Excerpt from Ulster Journal of Arch ology, Vol. 3 In lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland, 2 vols. 4to, London, 1837, the arms of the several bishoprics (before the number was reduced) are shown in wood engravings, which the Preface states (p. Vi.) to have been made from drawings of wax impressions. Though generally reduced to a uniform scale and outline, they appear to be faithfully reproduced.
