It is war told through the eyes of a young stewardess, Christina Valle, who falls in love with an air force pilot flying reconnaissance missions in Vietnam. Based by her airline near Tachikawa Air Force Base, Japan, Christina volunteers her non-flying time to the Red Cross. She is assigned to a casualty station that is treating U.S. soldiers wounded during the Tet Offensive. That experience brings home what the young soldiers she is transporting to Vietnam are facing.
