On August 20, 2023, at 6:24 pm, after an eighteen-month battle with colorectal cancer, Josephine Widrick breathed her last in her earthly body and passed into paradise with her Lord Jesus Christ. Her husband, author Randy J. Widrick, was with her throughout the year and a half of treatments. In Walking through the Shadows of the Valley, he shares the testimonies of those who personally interacted with Jo and their story of how God transformed her. Randy was inspired to record this story because of what Christ did in and through Jo, his wife of forty-three years. With journal entries, narrative, and pictures, this memoir shares the couple’s journey through the process, the diagnosis of Jo’s colorectal cancer, making difficult decisions, and relying on Father God to guide them through every aspect. Walking through the Shadows of the Valley shows how Randy’s faith increased and how God enlarged and changed his Biblical understanding of God’s healing power.
