Before she reaches the door way Carmen can see Martha pacing in the kitchen as she reaches the full arch of the door, Carmen sees Mrs. Helen sitting looking defeated. Carmen is wondering what Martha told Mrs. Helen? Martha looks at Carmen who stand there emotionally spent. Sue Lang and Mi Lang are holding hands behind her. Betsy and Mary Washington are behind them, as though they were rear guards. Carmen lips slowly parts, she speaks, "what do we do now?" Carmen shows no tears although she is weeping inside. She thinks, 'how life in this universe has tested them at such a young age ' she continues to think 'Motherless, Fatherless, homeless and then blessed!' She suddenly has a body chill. She moves towards the table to have a seat. "What you do now; will be to tell that lady next time she comes here she need to send notice. She should never go to anyone home without notice." Mrs. Helen answers as she stands. She turns to Martha and continue speaking "I am going to my room."
