Yoshi writes, with the aid of a scribe, to describe the sights, sounds, and smells of his life as a young, devout Jewish shepherd who loved his sheep and desired to emulate his hero, King David. No one, especially Yoshi, would have thought such a supposed insignificant person would be the narrator to such a glorious story Like a splendid jewel, history gains appreciation when viewed from different perspectives with each facet providing greater depth. Although Yoshi of Bethlehem is a fictional character, his story fleshes out life in first century Israel while being careful not to contradict the history of the Scriptures.
