Mya is a story of an African princess and her mother sold into slavery by her father. It depicts the story of slavery through the eyes of a slave girl, who encountered a hierarchy of slavery due to her position in the slave community. Oppression to Progression for Black Women in the West Indian Slave Trade is a story of fiction but is based on facts. It shows how women were treated by their own people and how they were treated in slavery.
